I had a good day today!

I went 56 miles, at something like 13.5 MPH, more importantly I felt great, had an awesome time, blasted a stretch of highway that was ten miles long at something like 20mph, and wasn't wrecked when I got home. My first half century (Well, since the 90s) was just a few weeks ago, and I was wasted afterwards. Last Saturday I went 50 miles and climbed something like 3,200 and didn't die, although I was fully spent. But today I was, well by my current standards anyway, fast. I hammered several long flats. I topped a hill, into the wind at around the 40th mile at 17mph, for a 46 year old, who's now just about 262, down from 280, I was thrilled. Life is good, keep on spinning.

Wow! congrats dude! That's awesome. I'm 51 and 250 lbs. and I just got sore reading all of that. I am just a rookie cyclist though. I hope someday to put some serious miles on my bike. Keep up the good work. :thumb:

Awesome! 50 is my goal before the end of the year. Looking at your name, appears you may be from Indiana. If you are close to Indy, I wouldn't mind tagging along with you sometime.

I didn't notice this when this thread was new, yes I'm in southeast Indiana, and I'm often interested in tagging along.

Impressive. Just three years ago I was spent after five miles of flat at 12. In the last month I have had my first two metric C's. My speed is lower than yours, but I have ten years on you. It's all good. (215 down from 290 in three years)

It's amazing how one good or great day can keep you happy for several days or even weeks. Gotta love a good day!!
