Needed 7 miles to meet my monthly total but it was a nice day so I figured I'd just take off and see what happened. In the end I took in a route such that I could meet my wife after work, which limited my time. When I realised I was further away than I was likely to cover in the time I had available I had to choose between taking in a longer ride figuring I wouldn't be there to meet her, or ramping the power and trying to get there anyway. So I decided to ramp the power, which made my quads burn quite nicely. One particular section of road has a few rolling hills that often cause me troubles but today I punched over all of them in my big ring. Except the last one, where just as I was congratulating myself on defeating all the hills without going down a ring I realised it had caught me out (again) and I hadn't reached the top. By then my legs weren't going to power over the rest of it in the big ring so I dropped to the middle ring and went over it.
So this month's target is met and broken by 29 miles and there are a few more cycling days left! It's looking like I'll probably make it to 400 miles before it's all over.

I'm just about 7 miles from my previous best month mileage wise and 1 hour from my best month time wise. Will knock that out shortly and update...have a 46 mile ride set for Sat 8/31 so anticipate having my first 500 mile month.

Two days off the bike due to weather, but I got out there today for a nice endurance ride. Feels good to get in 40km at 14mph while staying in zone 2! That tells me that my fitness is improving!

5 miles today, on exercycle in basement due to high heat and humidity. At 110, I'm already over the 100 minimum, but may put on a few miles on Saturday as well.

Made last months goal of 222 and added 117 to it equalling total of 339. Changing it up this month.

Up to 827 miles and 34,863' of climbing this month. Lots of mindless commuting.
Cyclocross is ramping up and mileage will slow down for the next few months. Have a clinic this weekend and first race of the season the following weekend. Let the fun begin!

Needed 19 miles to break through 400 so set off to see where I ended up. Took in my testing hill and once again got up it in my 39/28 combo. Then just looped around a bit, mixing-n-matching a few routes I often ride and added a new section to it. Would have gone further with a few extra loops but time constraints meant I needed to get back home. Keeping the speed as high as I can through these rides, which at present means trying to hold 20mph or better on the sections that don't have traffic lights every 100 yards.

Today I decided I needed to tackle a route with more climbing, since that is what I need to work on the most. Took a route with several reasonably long climbing ranging between 4 and 6% for a total of 34km and 160m in elevation gain (though the vast majority of that gain in concentrated into a few climbs). I suspect I'll need a day off the bike tomorrow, but as I've already exceeded my goal, I'm cool with that.

Nothing special today. Got in 18 miles in morning and another 11 miles in evening. Monthly total at 505 miles, goal was 500 miles. Will add some more miles tomorrow then gear up for September. Edit: Added 16 more miles today and finish the month at 521.9 miles. Total for year at 2441.
