Aren't you a little slim to be having surgery for weight loss?

I would say yes... unless you're having liposuction done you still have to lose the weight.

I wasn't referring to me. I was wondering whether it's "cheating" or an unfair advantage if you have had a body alteration that can assist in weight loss.

Advantage over whom? Is there prize money being handed out?

I don't even think bragging rights are at stake here.

9 pounds down so far this month.

Psuedo-milestone - this loss brings my BMI into the Class II range down from the Class III range. There will be neither cake nor ice cream to celebrate this event.

Advantage over those who have not had surgery.

The title "Biggest Loser" makes it sound like a competition.

It looks like more of a mutual encouragement society from where I'm sitting.

Another Saturday is here. I was all the way in the car, waterbottle filled and beside me, helmet and gloves ready to go, and keys in the ignition when I thought, maybe I'd better check the weather. Wow! All clear to the east and looked like 5 miles to the west the entire map on the zoom level was covered in blue and yellow! Glad I didn't ride because 10 minutes later, trees were bent over in the wind and the rain was really coming down. Looks like tomorrow will be my nice long ride for the weekend.

So, last Saturday I weighed in at 221.2. This morning, 217.8. Only 2.8 lb. to go for my goal and 9 days left of the month.

Riding? My last update on Monday I was at 122 miles. I only got 3 days of riding in this week because of school, work stuff, and doctor appointment and only got 30 miles for the week. One of the rides was after some extra OT at work so I only did the short trail which is 2.5 miles out and the same return. So I am at 152 for the month. That leaves me with 48 miles left in 9 days for my goal of 200 miles, easily doable if work and weather cooperate (plan to take care of half of that in a ride tomorrow.)

Go for it.

You can start with me - I started the month at 225 and I'm still 225. I'm sure you lost more weight than I did - get bragging.

Wow, all I was hoping for was to help each other stay motivated, not have the biggest jackass competition. This was suppose to be a positive thread where we encouraged each other, like it has been the last few months. Don't know what everyone's problem is, but if you are down to trying to be the "Most Awesome on the Internet" you probably have bigger issues than the number on you bathroom scale.

Y'all need to lighten up, post 61 was a joke. I've certainly done nothing worthy of bragging.

Oh yeah, 12 more miles yesterday, 274 for the month.

No ride today. Just 2 short 5 mile rides the last 2 days because SWMBO said, "It would be nice to see you..." She has to leave for work at 4:45. I can't get back until 5 if I do my normal ride.

At least she's off the next 2 days. I plan to put a bit more miles in than my normal 12 and hopefully get up early enough on Saturday to get a nice ride in before she even wakes up let alone leaves for work.

I'm stuck. School started back for my son and it has slowed my riding. Need to get back in a routine.

Just did 6.97 km. 30 mph headwind sucks big time...Oh well...
That puts me at 113.67 km for the month...I doubt I'll reach any of my goals for the month lol

This week I also had a problem with progress on weight loss. Last Saturday 217.2. Yesterday morning, 217.0. Hey, at least it's a 0.2 pound loss, LOL.

I blame my wife when she brought home a six pack of IBC rootbeer for the girls. I saw it, thought, "Hmm, there's ice cream in the freezer...." and boy was it well worth it. I haven't had a rootbeer float in years, so yummy! I was doing good with that ice cream sitting in the freezer too, I hadn't touched it.

Mileage wise, not so good either. Wifey is complaining that she doesn't get to see me because if I ride after work, I can't get home before she goes to work. Once home, I'm stuck helping the youngest out with homework, cleaning up after dinner, etc, so I started during the week just stopping on the short trail which gets me a 5 mile ride. I just ride that 5 miles as hard and fast as possible.

And dagnabit if on Friday I didn't get a text from her that the mower broke, so I didn't get to ride Friday. I came home to tear apart the mower instead. She's off at 3 today though, I think I'm going to wait til near dusk and head out for another nice long ride as it gets dark. That was pretty cool last time I did that.
