9-4 8.4 miles

mtd 33.6/100

I'm getting tired of the Mennonite girls passing me riding backwards up the hills. Just realized I am at a 1.3 of my goal! I will see how badly I can blow it out of the water.

Already looking like 150 may be a little optimistic what with other commitments growing already. We'll see.

Took in a combination of two loops today. Nearly got wiped out on the home straight by some stupid ******* swinging across the road without looking. Somehow she thought that was my fault. Stupid bint. Oh well, aside from her the ride was good, if very hot and sweaty.

Sep 02 - 48 miles
Sep 05 - 40 miles

MTD 88/150
YTD 2598/3107

I'll commit to 150 Miles. I'm slated to do 45 in the MS 150 this month. Got my first ride in for the month shorten due to starting too late 45min of riding time. Finished my ride in darkness. Need to invest in head and tail lights.

9/5/13: 9.46 miles.

Working on cyclocross skills this month. Participated in an unsanctioned pickup race last night after work. Turned 9 six minute laps on a 1.4 mile course. 30+ CXers showed up. Sand pile, couple of sets of barriers, an off camber section, and plenty of rough dirt road to put the pedal to the metal and max out the heart rate.

First Lap video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0tVcplkAKk

After the race I put my little commuter backpack on, aired up the tires, turned on the lights, and cycled 25 miles back home in the dark. Tired but felt good.

First sanctioned race on Saturday morning. Yeah!

MTD: 53 miles
YTD: 9,103 miles

Another shorter ride today, the headwinds the last couple of days have been a real pain. Also I've finally admitted that wearing gym shorts over my bibs is just causing material to bunch in places I don't want it. Rode in just jersey and bib shorts, and wow, what a difference! Actually helped my pedaling efficiency because the lack of material bunching made it easier to keep thighs and knees closer together.

September 5 - 22.5km
MTD - 131km / 600km
TTD - 1,063km since June 25, 2013

Well, I hit 100 miles today - my new goal for the rest of the year is to get 100 miles per week (which may or may not work out to 400 miles a month depending...)

9/1 - 68 - 1,302ft
9/4 - 21 - 1,726 ft
9/5 - 12 - 489 ft

I'm still in "base miles" mode after being off the bike for nearly 3 months this summer. I figure I have roughly 370 miles in since I started back up again so another 1 or 2 hundred before I start crying about how slow I am. I need to get some hills in again too.

Have yet to get out on bike this month. Heat and other things have played a role. Dropped my bike off today at my LBS for some work (new chain, cassette, BB parts and cables) as was due again. (Put 2300 on cable and chain that were put on in February under Red Shield). Cassette was my original and think they put some BB bearings or whatever on in Feb too but was hearing noise on Saturday so told them to check and replace as necessary.

So until Wed next week if I want to ride, it will be on my hybrid (FX).

9/6: 28.9km

MTD: 86.7/600km

I somehow only noticed yesterday that there is a Strava segment on my daily commute. I saw I was at 5/52, so I figured this morning I'd actually push myself on that part of my commute and got #2 ! There's a 3.2km/h gap between the KOM and me though, so I definitely have to continue to improve my fitness to challenge that, but I'm still pretty happy getting #2 .

Glad to see you back young man. Being out is tough but coming back is tougher. I was only out 2 months. Another month and I'd had been toast.

Now if you want to start boo hoo'ing about how slow you are get in line... forms behind me. I finally got me that new tattoo above my Canadian flag one- says...."On your right!"

Hills or just driveway repeats?
