Dog tags with contact info around the neck for when a truck decides to pull out in front of you.
Some use a RoadID however the first thing that the medics like to do is start cutting off your $100 jersey and $100 bibs but they leave on the $5 socks
Bag:
Tire lever
Spare Tube
Old pieces of tube that can also be used as a boot
Patch kit
2 CO2 cartridges
CO2 chuck
Shrader to Presta adaptor. Stop at a gas station to fill the tyre to 110 if needed.
Jersey pocket; depends on the length of the ride.
Always:
Small pump to find the pesky hole in the tube
Cell phone
Some cash for chocolate muffins or doughnuts
I then start adding...
a Cliff bar per hour on rides of 1 1/2 hours or more. As an example a 2 hr ride might only be a Stinger waffle; Planning a 6 hour century I carry 5 Cliff bars
Camelbak Elixer tabs for in the water bottle; 1 per hour
Hammer flask with Chocolate Hammer Gel; great for on the vanilla ice cream or pie after the ride.

My saddle bag always has:
- spare tube
- patch kit
- tire levers
Plus frame pump
Depending on route, I take my iPhone and cash in my jersey pocket. For long rides, I add power bars and sometimes my wallet.

Got to use the tire levers, pump, and tube tonight. Dappled sunlight sucks for seeing debris on the road, and I'm a magnet for potholes and rocks:

One thing I carry that I didn't notice anyone listing is a few small wire ties to secure a broken spoke to an adjacent spoke to stop it from flopping around as you ride.

On every ride, I carry:
- A pair of Pedro's tire levers, because they're the only ones I've found to be unbreakable
- Park CT-5 chain tool
- Park SW-7 triple spoke wrench
- Crank Brothers Multi-10 multi-tool
- Spare tube
- Patch kit, replaced regularly
- $20
- Cell phone
- 1-2 spare master links for chain
I wear a Road ID with my DL# and emergency contact info and have a Topeak Road Morph pump strapped to the frame. On longer rides or bad roads or when time is important I'll add another spare tube to my jersey pockets. The pockets also hold my food supply; usually a small flask with 5-6 servings of Hammer Gel and a Clif bar or two (depending on ride length).
