Biggest Loser in November? Sure, why not.
OK, November may not be the most desireable month to play Bigest Loser, but I'll bite.
11/1 - 208.6
11/2 - 210.0 AM (Carboloaded Fri. night for Century ride, 209.6 post ride)
Goal, <200 by end of Year, if not by end of Nov.

I'll join too
Nov. 1st: 311 lbs
Goal: 305 lbs
Distance: no real goal, it's getting cold and windy here, so I'll get as much as I can, and mix it up with some walks and probably some weight training

I'm always ready to play...
11/1: 260lbs
Goal: 5lbs.
Between the temps dropping (remember, I'm generally out at 0430), Thanksgiving, and the travel involved... I feel 5lb for the month is a pretty good goal. I'd like to see 250 drop by the wayside by 2014 and see 225 by the MIM Sprint Tri... My distance goals are in my sig.

I'm in too! I made my goals last month, 9 lb loss and 333 miles. My Goal was 9 lbs and 250 miles. Like everyone else I don't expect to do as well in November. I am still hoping to make 200 miles and loose at least 5 lbs. That will put me at 175. I am no longer a clyde and a lot of the reason why is the goals I have set on these threads. For some reason its very important to me to make them or at least do the best I can.

Starting weight 11-1 = 239
goal weight 232
Not setting a distance goal this month, going to be spending more time in the gym and ride when the weather allows.

I need to be in. November 3rd, 238lbs. My goal: 8 lbs by December 1st.
Ive been stagnant at this weight far too long. Between a new gym membership, a desire to commute more often, mountain biking, and a desire to eat better (with a plan), it is "doable."

Why only 2 eggs a week? We have chickens and I eat two boiled eggs a day for a snack and sometimes have a couple scrambled for breakfast. Our hens started laying about the same time I started riding. My doc says my blood work looked great (last week) and to keep up what ever it is I am doing. I have lost 22 lbs in three months.

Cholesterol issues (bad genes and a desire to kick the statin drugs.) I did read in The Omnivores Dilemma that free range organic eggs have properties that counteract the bad effects on my lipids, like better ratio of saturated to unsaturated fat. I think this is due to the diet not being as high in protean as factory raised chickens get.

As of today, the wife and I are counting calories. I'm not changing anything else... yet. She's trying to figure out why I've been losing so much, and she's staying static. We agree it's calorie intake vs output, so we'll see what happens.

I'll go in again, but am going to adjust my goals. The original plan was to see 199 by the end of the month, but I'm starting higher than expected.
Starting weight: 212.8lbs
Goal weight: 204.9lbs
Distance on Bike: 800km (with the cold, this will be distance on the bike at the gym and my bike on the rollers at night)

yes thanks . . . here's my goal for Nov:
start weight: 187.2
goal weight: 180.0
comment: I've always been able to lose weight in the fall, for some reason this is "weight loss season" for me; however, I haven't been down in the 180s since . . . uh . . . hmmmm . . . I think 2001 or 2002, beyond my recent memory. on a 6-even frame, 185 was my weight throughout my 20s so that is motivation to "go back in time". I'm feeling great and highly motivated. I'm in an eating routine whereby I basically avoid all sweets and salty snacks. I feel if I eat a sweet, I will binge on them. Current diet is egg, veggie pan scram with jalapenos in the morning; salad at lunch; dinner begins with 3 cups frozen veggies topped with raw sliced almonds and canadian steak seasoning for flavor. oh and coffee at 3pm, which reminds me . . . be back . . . kidding. and after the dinner of 3 cups veggies, a green smoothie made of soy or coconut milk, kale greens, mango cubes, soy protein powder, little almond butter, which serves as a dessert. Plus, continue the 40 min bike commute, cx racing on Sunday, and 20 minute trainer workouts. All this has been a recipe for success. As long as I stay healthy, knock on wood. Or extra stress at work. Historically, I've been knocked out of good eating groove by "life stress". And historically, I've gained 20 lbs from Christmas to March. So this is the "easy" season for me so I'm making the most of it. Crunch time will be in Jan, hopefully I won't be "crunching" on chips and salsa all night. !
update: oh man, the hunger has come on with a vengance . . . it all started with a container of Nutella . . . the ambrosia of the gods . . . it is good with peanut butter . . . like a mouthful of melted Reeses . . . it is good with Honey Greek Yogurt . . . sweet and sour . . . oh, oh, oh. it is good. I heard a story that Jan Ulrich, former German TDF winner for Team Telecom, and confessed doper, who struggled with weight used to microwave a whole Nutella container, then slurp it down in one gulp with a big straw. I have not sunk to that low, but am nearly there. demons.

Sunday check-in...
262 (+2). not sure what happened, but it may have something to do with the leftover Halloween candy. I have managed 60.7 mi on the bike and 11.3 mi on foot so... hopefully next week will be better because I KNOW that Thanksgiving with my in-law's is going to really mess me up... My wife's aunt can COOK!

Today was my first time in the gym in over 2 years.
It felt really great; did some weight training, but took it easy. I plan to do weights + 30 mins of cardio 4 times a week, and do an hour of cardio on the "off" days.
Keeping the diet in check too.

11/15-207.4 I didn't give up on weighing daily, just reporting it here daily. It has been hard to stay on track, but this does help.
Goal, < 205 by my Black Friday ride. 200 by end of Year, if not by end of Nov.

Sunday check in...
absolutely NOT a good week... again... I am down 1lb to 261, but I am still +1 for the month. I got no saddle time at all this last week, but I did manage 6.1mi on foot. Problem is, I'm now feeling some lovely pains all down my shins. A marathon runner I work with suggested that I 1) Get in to see my Dr. ASAP. Apparently, feeling a sharp pain at a specific point on the shin bone is not a good thing. 2) Get to a store that can analyze my gait and give me shoe choices. Fleet Feet in Memphis was awesome. They found a pair of shoes (Brooks Adrenaline) that feel... for lack of a better term... like pure sex on my feet . Now I just gotta find the $$... well after the Dr. clears me that is... Oh, and one more lovely thing. I am using exercise to hopefully get off of my HBP and Diabetes meds. I've already dropped one med for Diabetes because I was constantly going hypoglycemic. I had 2 drops like that last week (88 and 86 glucose). So... if this keeps up, hopefully I can drop my last med for that *crosses fingers*
