Clipless help
Have been thinking of going clipless. I wear a 12 4E shoe. Any thoughts on who make a wide shoe for SPD cleats. More of a hiking/biking style.
Thanks

I have the same size feet and use sidi mega sized dominators. I use a size 47 mega shoe, this feels a bit more comfortable than the 46 mega size. Sidi dominators are pretty pricy but the fit and quality is great. I haven't tried any other wide cycling shoes except carnac, years ago.

Some of Specialized's shoes (e.g. the Comp MTB) come in both regular and wide widths. I have no idea how wide their wide shoes actually are, though. I've been riding in a pair of of their BG Comp MTB shoes for the past several years and have been very pleased with them! It doesn't hurt that they were half the cost of the Sidis I was considering...

These puppies are pretty wide. Dunno if 4E wide. Maybe somewhere near you has them. At least 3 shops within 15 miles of me carries them.

Finding wide shoes is a real challenge. What I finally did was go to a big bike store (Performance) that had a large selection of shoes, try them all on, and get the ones that feel best, in my case Giro. YMMV

I wear a 10.5 4E in running shoes. I went down to my local shop and tried on a bunch of different shoes. I am really glad that I did. The shoes that I was planning on getting were very uncomfortable due to width.
For my road shoes that use SPD SL cleats, I found that the SIDI megas fit me the best and ended up with a pair of Genius 5 Pro Carbons. They were quite pricey, but very comfortable and I don't regret buying them at all
For my mountain bike using just plain ole SPD cleats, I am using a pair of Specialized Tahoe shoes. They were wide enough to be comfortable and a lot cheaper than the SIDIs.
