Kona Jake the Snake?

Hello I am getting into biking again. I am on a kona dew right now but I would like to upgrade to a cyclocross or road bike. I have a chance to get a new frame and build it to my likings. I have never done this before. Any thoughts on this bike and the build. I am 5'10" 320lbs with short legs. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

I have a Kona Jake ... the JtS's little brother, and I've been pleased with it.

Use it for commuting and hopefully this fall some CX.

I've been thinking of the same thing, Bikeman sells the frame sets, here is the 2014 version... 2014 Jake The Snake
They also still have last years in stock too if you want cantilever brakes for slightly less money.

What about a Surly Crosscheck? Would be made from steel - guess it could be an advantage if doin a bit of off roaring. These seem to be fairly popular on here too. I've nothing against Konas Jake the snake either. Lovely bikes all of them! Get one that you like the best and want to cycle
