I jumped on the Peugeot and hit the road this afternoon with some lofty goals in mind. At 6.25 miles straight away from home, my left crank arm started to wobble.I had to call the wife to rescue me from the side of the road. Fortunately, the was no thread damage as it tightened right up with a socket wrench.

7-1 starting the month off with 26.1 miles and a Strava PR. I think this was our first 90° day. Ride was from work to home by a meandering route and then some more.

I'm back in... I haven't really ridden at all since the 200ish mile tour I did mid May... most I've done since is some 10 min gym warmups and a puts down to the store... so time for some real riding lets say 150mile goal
7/1 - 12.64 miles
my standard short loop
MTD - 12.64
goal - 150
MTG - 137.36

My goal for July is 600 miles, which would be about 200 more than I got in June. I've been strict about not riding two days in a row so I don't get fatigued, but since July will be my third month of riding I'm probably ready to start trying five rides a week. I've been taking a pretty serious approach to getting fit and I've cut way back on needless alcohol, I'm eating smarter, and I'm riding a bunch and lifting and doing an hour on the elliptical on off days. So far I'm down about 10 pounds but I'm hoping I can drop 20-30 more in the next two months. We'll see...

my standard short loop... I apparently didn't do enough lifting at the gym earlier today and felt I needed to get out and go for a ride... I ended up doing it in just over 45 min... while not lightning fast I looked back and found that it's my all time record for this loop... and that was in spite of some very rough pavement where the city is working on repaving and me catching a ton of red lights... my previous best was my ride yesterday and I bested that by over 4 min... I find this exciting as I haven't done any riding since mid May but instead have been spending more time in the gym with a short cardio warm up and then weights... in my pushes I felt like I could go harder longer... so I guess my time in the gym has been helping... now just to figure out balancing out the two.
MTD - 25.24
goal - 150
MTG - 124.76

Managed to get out yesterday for 16 miles on the cinder bike trail. Lots of washed out areas from all the June rain and lots of soft spots where I just sunk in almost stopping me dead. The turkey farm still stinks, going to have to start sprinting through that mile, LOL.
Funny how I work with plastic pellets and am usually digging in my scalp with my fingernails after work pulling plastic pellets out of my hair (what is left of it.) Going home yesterday I was feeling around and pulling tiny little stone chips out of my hair, LOL.
7/2 - 16 miles
MTD - 16 miles
YTD - 472 miles (I think)

7/1 27.6 miles
7/2 35.7
Nothing for the 3rd, spent the afternoon washing, degreasing, and waxing my bike and getting my new wheels on. And getting the bearings in the bottom bracket replaced.

Wanted to get out yesterday but mower was out of gas so Wifey didn't mow. That meant I had to do the mowing after work. She loves mowing and I hate it so it usually works out well since my allergies are so bad.
Got out around the house on the hills this morning. I didn't get up early enough to ride the traiil I've been wanting to hit. Ended up being a really short ride of only 7 miles which with the cold weather coming through, it was too short to even drink any water as it was still frozen in preparation of riding the 36 miles in the Allegheny National Forest that I wanted to do.

This is a big month for me! I'm riding the Seattle to Portland ride in one day this year on July 12th, then a few weeks later I'm riding the RAMROD on July 31st! I've done the STP a few times now, so I'm looking forward to it since it's a fun ride, but the RAMROD is a little intimidating. It's 150 miles and 10,000 of climbing. I'm not much of a mountain climber so it's going to be a very long, very slow day!

7/5 63.2 miles
160/400 MTD
Was absolutely flying (relative to me...) for the first two hours. First time ever to do a solo 20/20 (20.2, despite several stop signs and stop lights!), so one goal that for a long time I though was impossible has been met. At 1:59::30 there was a train decoupling cars. Had to wait a little over ten minutes, and for whatever reason my legs just seized up and I just couldn't get rolling comfortably again. Every little 2-3% climb just burned. Just sat up with 15 miles to go, it just wasn't worth fighting the headwind anymore and I creeped home at 13-14mph.
Beautiful day to be out riding. Bit breezy with winds at 15mph, but they really felt good blowing off the lakes.
There was a roadkill skunk upwind at one point, and you could smell it a looooong ways away!

7-5 20.6 miles 2080 feet on the cx bike, dirt road, rocky one at that. Saw some wildlife so it was a good ride.
