Western PA folks

Yes, I noticed after sending that, that your posts were only at 11 and figured you probably wouldn't be able to respond.

FWIW to all the other folks, I was just asking BillinPA where he was riding and what trails if he was. Someone else from PA asked me and I noticed Bill's location as western PA and figured I'd ask as well.

I was thinking of posting in the regional section about western PA to find others whom may be riding in my neck of the woods. I'm mainly interested in our Clyde/Athena demographic though, so if any of you in Clyde form are from the western side of PA, feel free to speak up. Which of our awesome trails do you ride? We have quite a lot of rural rails to trails here in W. PA. Allegheny River and Sandy Creek are the trails I mainly ride, along with the Butler-Freeport Community trail a few minutes from work.

As for Chippewa, Bill, I had a friend who moved there a long time ago and would head down that way back in my bar hopping days. Haven't been down that way in quite some time, but I was recently down in Pittsburgh riding the trails along the river for a few hours.

As a point of reference we SoCal clydes use the socal forum as well but feel free to post here (or both). It shouldn't offend anybody, especially if you properly title your posts.

Well, it's a near certainty that you'll offend somebody but I wouldn't let it stop you if it were me.

Agreed, and I highly recommend finding a like-minded group to ride with as often as you can. The SoCal C/A's have done some pretty cool rides, including a "little hill" that they used for Tour of California a few times, long trails that lead to the beach, organized centuries as well as volunteered to help a charity event. "For the most part" (ahem), it's a great group of people. There's motivation and accountability, if you so choose. Careful, though. If you don't ride enough, one or two of them may make snarky comments both here and on Strava!

And yes, regional is good, if you just want people to ride with. If you want to target the C/A group, feel free to post here. And like TH said, it helps to name the thread appropriately.

Finally - if you do post a group ride in here, photos are REQUIRED after the ride!!!!

I am currently planning a tour from the Youngstown, OH area to Philly. The way things are shaping up, I would leave Youngstown on 9/6 and ride to Franklin, PA for a motel room. Sunday would take me down the Alleghney River Trail from Franklin to Emlenton where I would pick up PA Bike Route V to a campground near Shippenville.
