A shout out on a great saddle!
So, I recently got a 2015 Trek 1.2 and while the saddle was ok, I wanted to see what all the fuss over leather saddles was about. I picked up a Selle Anatomica X Tru Leather saddle and let me tell you, it is the cats pajamas This thing was comfortable from the jump. I was worried since alot of Brooks owners talk about how long it takes to break in but there is nothing to worry about here. Check them out if you are looking for a nice saddle.

My experience is that these saddles is that they are comfortable from the get go as well; not so with Brooks. Brooks though last for a very long time; not clear whether this will be the case with selle anatomica saddles.

Dang those are some expensive seats...
I'm kinda tempted to try one out when I get a touring bike (brooks are just a huge nope for me) but the price tag is really very steep. You can get a fizik for less

I was worried about the price tag as well. After I sat on it I realized it's money well spent. My bike cost enough, might as well get my monies worth on it and ride it. If my saddle is comfortable, I can ride longer

Not that much if it doesn't work out for you. I would need to be pretty sure that saddle fits before I bought it. Buying a new saddle is always a gamble but my price limit is in the $100 region and luckily it worked out (fizik, the best thing ever)

I'm actually wondering if I should go back to REI and return my Brooks B-17 Imperial. Blasphemy, I know. It's wonderful when I'm on the tops&hoods, hooks are almost okay, but there's something to be desired while in the drops.
Even then, it was more wonderful on the tops&hoods before I slammed the stem. The less upright I am, the more likely I am to wonder if there is a better saddle out there for me. I suspect my bike may be a little small, if that makes any difference.

You might try some subtle adjustments to angle and height first.
Maybe even different shorts.
I have one brand that's comfortable if on the tops for 60+ miles but absolute torture if down on the drops for any length of time.
Small differences in the chamois construction and saddle pitch seem to make a big difference.

Last year Anatomica offered their saddles on sale for $99 around the holidays. May happen again; who knows?

Every once in a while, Anatomica saddles show up on the discount outdoor equipment website, "The Clymb".

I am lucky I guess. My favorite saddle is a $30.00 Bontrager SSR. I have ridden 3,000 miles this year including 3 centuries without a single episode of pain or chaffing.
