Anyone ride during lunch break at the office?
Weather is great in my area, and I don't have a trainer, but want to get more ride time in. I used to ride after work often, but now with a newborn at home I'm finding weekends are my only real option outside of getting up at 5:00am to ride before work.
There is a MUP about 5 minutes from the office and my lunch schedule is pretty flexible and I can take an over an hour as needed when needed.
Considering packing up the bike and maybe riding once or twice a week to make up for my lost night riding time.
Anyone ever do this and what are your thoughts on it?

I still ride after work, mountain biking that is
get in early and out by 4PM, there are a few nice short trails by me, at Chimney Rock in Martinsville, on the long way home
done by 5PM just as it gets pitch dark here, may need to switch to mornings as I'm really starting to lose daylight
the best way to decompress after a fruitless day at work ....

I used to ride during lunch. For a period of time, when I woke up in the morning and (I don't know what I was going through lol) felt too lazy to ride, so I would drive to work. Then during the morning at work I would feel bad cuz I didn't ride - so when lunch started I would race home in the car, hop on the bike and ride back to work, and then home. After a while it just turned into a habit

I had been walking at lunch then graduated to running, but one day overdid it and strained my achilles and read cycling would be good until I healed. so I strapped on my bike rack and just kept a bike on the car. then every day I rode my bike instead of run. it was unique fun. it's amazing how much further one can go on a bike than on foot!

Wow I totally missed that topic as it was right around the time my son was born. I'll just reference that one and let this one die

Wow I like that idea. How far was the ride? Unfortunately I'm just out of range to make the commute to and from work in my current state. It's about 25 miles 1 way and I don't feel safe riding that far at night in rush hour traffic. Hopefully I'll be a stronger rider come next summer and will try to commute at least once a week.
