I logged mile 3000 today.

I started riding again last year (Jan 2013) after being off the bike for many years. Last year I got 1700 miles in. I was pretty proud of that accomplishment. This year, I nearly doubled that amount. I crossed the 3000 mile on my commute to work this morning. I guess I could still double it, but considering the holidays, travel, etc. not likely. In these 2 years, I've lost 40 pounds and recently had my blood pressure and cholesterol medications reduced. I'm feeling great and looking forward to next year!

Good work! Keep riding this winter and you will roll into spring with legs that just want to ride! And I'll bet those BP and cholesterol numbers keep falling.

I have recently been trying to up my (post racing days) mileage every year by a little. (I hit numbers while racing that I will never have the passion to do again.) Figure if I keep doing this, I might postpone the reaper's visit. I've got 134 miles to go, so I think this year it isn't going to be hard. (I crashed two of the last 4 years. The year in between, I burned out seriously and managed to make my best; on New Year's eve by 2 miles.)

Way to go! Commuting is a great way to get more riding time.

Awesome! I'm far less dedicated to the sport than I thought I was, I crossed the 1,000 mile mark last year (first year off the couch!) and planned to double it this year but came up a little over 500 miles short. Being a wimp and not wanting to ride in the cold/dark hurt me so much this year.

2015 will be a banner year for me regardless of weather conditions, I'm training on the stationary all winter so I should start out strong (I basically had to restart from the beginning this year after a long winter of laziness). I'm going to ride double this year's even if it kills me. I never found the time to ride out a full imperial century this year, nor a weekend overnight ride like I had made a goal to do.

Once again, congratulations OP!
