New Dirt Road Racer... sort of... ;)
So i signed up for my first bike race in 25 years... a 24 miler consisting of pavement, gravel, dirt and sand. I figured the Farley would be a bit much, unless of course we get a bunch of snow! Decided to change up my GT Tachyon a bit.
First was the tires. The Tachyon came with 32s, but were very paved road/trail IMHO... so decided I wanted something to handle the dirt and sand a bit better. Shop had some Kenda Komfort 700x40s, so i grabbed a set. Max inflation is 75 PSI, so naturally i pumped them to 75 to try them out. On the pavement they roll a lot better and smoother than i hoped. Did a short section of dirt road, that was a bit mushy do to a bit of a thaw, and the tires felt great! Very happy with them!
Next was the bar. The stock bar was a 550mm bar. It also came with bar-ends so the actual bar was a bit narrow for this big shouldered Clyde! Picked up a 680mm bar and got rid of the bar-ends... Arms are now in a more more comfortable shoulder width position! Just installed the bar, so looking forward to trying it out tomorrow!
And of course this thread would be useless with out some pictures! LOL

Nice setup. Those tires do look great. Bigger, but seems like they would roll better on pavement than the 32s.
