Best wishes and condolences from me and Mrs. Zoxe to the family.
Mrs. Zoxe and I met Tom while on his TdC Indianapolis team a few years ago. At the time, we were just getting started with biking and size loss. Tom's support over the years on this forum made a difference in our journies. When I went under 200 lbs in 2013, Tom wasn't as active here, but he stopped in and got me my Clyde Emeritus certificate. I still have it on my desktop, next to my before/after pictures.

Destroyer of Wheels
This was really shocking to hear. I was lucky to have had some non-BF interactions with him over the years - his kindness and warmth made the world brighter and more manageable. He was instrumental in getting this section started, and generally making BF a better place. I may have dropped off the last few years but I've never forgotten the lessons I've learned here, and the people I've met - especially Tom. Thank you Tom, for everything you've done, and everything you fought for.

I never met him or got to interact with him on the forums but I did read a lot of his posts and he seemed like a wonderful man. The world lost a good person and somebody I think anybody would have been lucky to know.

Like so many here, I found Tom on the forum, offering a firm push towards not just health, but wellness. Tom had a way of reinforcing the physical as a path to emotional well being.
When I first came here I was not healthy on either dimension. BIkes fixed much of that, and Tom fixed me with bikes when I needed the knowledge.
A couple of years back I pmed Tom asking if I could post something about giving away perfectly good, used, but now-too-big jerseys. Not only did he give permission, but he came back after a few days to make the post sticky. It's still going; Tom's spirit amplifying the simple gestures that drive connection and empathy. That is a really, really cool thing.
i hope that his loved ones visit here, and learn of the difference he made. I hope that gives them some comfort. Tailwinds, Tom.

That's really sad news. I'd held out hope that his health would improve and we see him here again on a regular basis. RIP Tom.

I didn't know Tom, but I'm sorry to hear of his passing. It apears he's already missed.

I'm 130 lbs lighter after lapband - seeing his posts and story and his biking @ the TdC, etc. gave me hope what I thought originally were unfeasible goals and helped kickstart the drive that still has me riding over eight years later. I watched and had sporadic contact with him here. Very sorry to hear he passed.
