I am looking for suggestions on rain pants or tights. I am short with about a 29" inseam and would like something more snug like tights but waterproof for about an hour commute. Thanks

US, REI. or MEC in Canada if too long get them Altered ,, many home businesses do alterations.
Or Get a pattern The Green Pepper, Inc. and have it sewn by a friend or home business that does That .. Dry with a coated fabric front abd a Lycra fabric back may be the Type you seek , I just wear hiking rain trouser shells and use a Velcro thouser band.. showers Pass has a zip off knicker length pant your thighs are what gets most wet on a Bike below the Jacket then the lower legs You just towel off when you arrive. and change out of your Bike shoes . |

wool tights are great, wear'em under shorts.

I am looking for something to wear when it is in the 30-40F range so sweat wont be as big of a problem.

I use REI Novara rain pants over normal work pants. I don't stay "dry", but I'm not soaking wet either, and will dry out in 10 - 15 minutes so no need to play musical clothes.

Check out foxwear.net. Lou makes clothing, including rain pants using all the latest fabrics (but not the oldest fabrics like wool), to measure. Plus his prices and service are top notch. I got a pair of rain pants last year, unfortunately, being in year 4 of the drought, I've only used them half a dozen times in the past two years.

Nylon sweat pants and wicking long johns. If the weather is warm, look for knee length long johns. I don't like the feel of water on my thighs.

Showers Pass Skyline......
go to for milder inclement rides Showers Pass Club....... grab for rain wear knee warmers when cold.....otherwise they both breath great wouldn't do without either not your normal sweatsuit YMMV |
