Performance is selling a shimano 105 hub/Mavic A719 rim wheelset with 36 14ga spokes for $160. I'm thinking this is a good option for my winter wheelset and the studded tires (700-37). Is it up to the task?

Road riding, carrying ~250 lbs (me + stuff) + the weight of the bike. Plenty of pot-holes and death-cookies (ice chunks fallen from cars).

I have the 719 on an XT hub, with 700x32 tires on my 520. It is a very robust wheel, and I'm around that weight with out the bike and other stuff.
