I bought my bike off craigslist and I've been doing all my repairs myself. There is a bike co-op in my town that has all the specialty tools and knowledge base to help me with any repair I need to perform. It is incredibly satisfying to roll in with an issue, wrench on it for a bit, then roll out good as new. And cheap too! $5 to use a stand and tools (or $50 for a year's membership), and they usually have all the spare parts you could ever need at competitive prices. It's a great place.

so your job is boring so you have time to write here and complain about things on your bike./

Hopefully your shop was just overloaded! I'm another who's mechanic is closer than any other person could be so I don't have these issues. But if I ever needed it, I do have a bike shop chomping at the bit to do my mechanical work for me.. and I'm pretty sure they'll do anything/everything I ask. Too bad they don't do wheel building though! That's one skill I haven't added fully to the arsenal yet (lacing from identical rim to identical rim don't count)
