I love it. Not for everyone but I can see the value in owning that bike. Now if I could only afford it.

So it's a high-end version of $500 bike? I'm sure its a nice frame, but $4k+ buys you a lot better custom frame and the remaining parts are cheap. You know its over priced when custom steel is more expensive than custom carbon or Ti.

Their custom bikes are pretty classy. I guess I can see how people who don't consider money in their purchases would go with them for the perfect touring bike or commuter, regardless of the multi-year wait.

This... other... line of cycles with a long wait seems harder to justify buying in on, but whatever floats the consumer's boat.

Simplicity
durability
value

The defining characteristics of the urban fixed gear which is the chosen bike for thousands, maybe millions of hipsters.

This one cost $5,000 and isn't even a real fixed gear. Apparently the irony has been lost on all of you. It's perfect. ;)

Seriously, aesthetically, aside from some subtle details, it looks like a lot of bikes costing thousands less. Materials wise, there's also little there to justify that kind of price. If you wanted to make some sort of artistic statement, this bike doesn't really do much.

I'm not getting the irony. It's not like rain on your wedding day :roflmao:

O.K. Now you did it!!! I had noticed and then mostly forgot about the Electra Loft 1 I posted earlier in this thread. I looked it back up to post . Sat. I was at the local park and they had added a couple lofts to their rental fleet . So I rented on and took it for a test drive :thumb: . I ordered one tonight. If the O.P. hadn't post this I wouldn't have looked it up , and wouldn't have bought another bike:innocent:
(That's my story and I'm sticking to it)
