that is another possibility. I was just thinking since Tundra_Man rides on a tundra it might be covered with snow, ice, etc. It was a weak joke.

I got it. It's ok that it was a weak joke, because I am a weak man.

$0.11. Stopped at the park to use the restroom yesterday and on the floor was a dime and a penny. It's a pretty clean restroom depending the time of day. I first bent down to get the dime, then after consideration grabbed the penny. I was thinking back to postings about people who glued coins to the street. But happy I did it. Walden park, Walnut Creek, California. Raining pretty hard today, yesterday I rode in the rain but that's because it looked clear when I started and then the rain started. It seems harder to start out right from the door into the rain, so I'm typing this from my garage computer. The bikes are right behind me so that counts, kind of. Enjoy your day!

Today I found a pocket of warm air. Riding along next to the bay in the pre-dawn; chilly, chilly, chilly, warm, warm, chilly, chilly, chilly. Weird. The landscape was exactly the same, except for half-a-mile it wasn't chilly.
After the winds and storm of the last week or so, the highway shoulder under the eucalyptus was a mess; I spent 15 minutes, stopping six or seven times, just moving big stuff (2' or longer). I had to stop, or I'd be late for work, so I had to dodge the rest of it. Luckily traffic was light. |
whale-farts, blown ashore.

There is a pocket of warm air on the Manhattan Bridge bike lane just as I enter Manhattan (from Brooklyn). I can't figure it out.

Tom, it's your daily dose from the MIB Neuralyzer.
There's a cold spot I ride through on the way home, a dirt track between two MUPs. It's just a few feet lower than the surroundings. It forms tulle fog and gets a little marshy in the spring. |
Or maybe you're above a vent coming from one of the tunnels?

Today,on my return from the library there was a cute little bird house laying in the bike lane. Sorry, I didn’t get a picture, I just had time to dodge it and then wonder what the heck was that? Seemed newly made out if some light wood. I wonder if it was left on top of the car and then...
I guess I’ll never know. |
Okay, Tuesday. Tuesday was a bit bizarre. I was riding on the trail through the Arcata Marsh, on my way to work (in the dark, natch, or I would have gotten pics) when I spotted broken glass on my lane, just waiting for an unsuspecting tire to happen along. I had time, so I stopped to kick at least the big pieces off the pavement, using my headlight to find them. It had drizzled the night before, so everything was wet; I guess that's what brought out dozens of what looked like tiny banana slugs to cross the trail towards the pond. We have banana slugs in the forest, but I'd never seen them in the marsh before. I rode the rest of that segment slowly, dodging inch long slugs. I wonder where they all ended up?
The rest of my ride was quite uneventful. |
A hand pump with pressure gauge is the only valuable thing I have found.
Apart from this, I found an earring (impaled on my tire, after puncturing it), and I have an extremely good magnet for glass shards and nails that break my tires prematurely. Once I even managed to puncture the rim itself with a nail. |

I cruise the drunk parking lots for change, bills and usually find enough for my coffee that morning before jumping. This is a Marine Corps town, they get messy when they go to their cars.

Found a wallet on a bridge along the Katy Trail last year. I wasn't real sure what to do with it, so I put it on a Lewis and Clark historical marker just before the bridge.

I found a busted cold case of Bush Light cans along the Hennipin Canal at a lock area early this fall. Must have been on a car roof because 2 cans were busted open. Only a few miles from home, I called the wife to come and get it. When I thought she should have gotten there ,I called again to see if she got lost. She said "just have patience I'm in the car not on my broom". lol I don't like Bush beer but my sister in law does.

Busch lite I would have left on the side of the road. Maybe grab a few cans in my bucket for making beer-cheese-jalapeno bread, but never to drink.
Homey don't drink lager |

A baby bottle, full of formula, sitting upright next to the curb. This being a residential area, I’m guessing a parent put it there while loading the car and forgot it.

I'll bet it did a great job replacing your electrolytes mid-ride.
I didn't pick it up.:p |
