New Personal Best!

Hey guys.

After almost wussing out today and not riding my bike in (in favor of a motorized bike), I decided to ride the bike in anyway. My wife and I went on a 8.5 mile "strenuous" hike yesterday, and my legs were a little tired. Well, I am glad I rode in, because I made a new time record! Average speed over the 9.5 miles was 17.7 mph (up from 16.8 previously), and total ride time was a 1.5 minutes faster than the previous best! No peceivable tailwind either. I guess that hiking just works the legs in a different way. Anyone ever seen anything similar?

I need to start hiking every Sunday.

Congrats on your personal best!

Wait until the 14mph ride home when your legs tell you off! My personal best came last week with tired legs from the day before's ride. It too came in the morning when I almost wimped out... The ride home was amoung my slowest!

You're probably right. After this morning I'll feel like a leasurely ride home anyway (atleast that's my excuse) I did however learn that I passed a professional licensing exam today (which took 3-4 hard months of studying), so I have another reason to ride fast on the way home: To Celebrate!
