Gave up my commute for my daughter
I am feeling kind of bummed out today because I ran out of time this am and had to drive the 9 miles to work. Now it is 70 degrees outside and I have to drive back home.
I was headed out the door this morning when my 16 month old daughter woke up. When I went to hand her over to her mother, she wanted to snuggle. We lounged for 10 minutes or so, blowing my chances to ride my bike. It is going to suck driving home but that was a great 10 minutes this morning. Life is good.

I dont have kids (and may never, but love our friends kids.) Five years from now, you will never miss that day on the bike. But....I bet you will remember the morning with your daugheter forever. Relish the moments....she will be a teenager before you know it and will not want anything to do with mom and dad!

I'm not sure "operator" is the only one confused...
The problem is that in "hand her over to her mother, she wanted" you use "her" twice to mean your daughter, but then "she" to mean your daughter's mother (I think) without specifying. Too many pronounds, not enough nouns.
But either way, what's wrong with snuggling with your wife OR your kids? They're both OK as far as I'm concerned.

Good job, man! Too many fathers leave the child rearing to the mother, and they don't take enough time to enjoy moments like that. I don't have kids, but I have nephews, and I don't even take a moment to think about it if they want to hang with me in the morning. A ride is not as satisfactory to me as hanging with my nephews and getting lots of loooooove from them. One morning, I was laying in bed and the older one was standing over me and whispering "I love you auntie" in my ear. Then he would give me a big kiss on my cheek. He did that about 5 times. Who am I to resist that? No riding... just hung out on the sofa all morning and chatted.
