Fenix HP15 Ultimate Edition on helmet

I am considering this light as an upgrade to the bulky integral light/battery unit I now use. The separate battery mounts on the headband at the back. Does anyone have any experience mounting this on a bike helmet. The Fenix website shows the provided head strap mounted on a caving/rock climbing helmet, but those are smooth in the back, unlike the funky aero fins on the back side of my laser helmet. I'm wondering if, even if I could stretch the head strap over the helmet, the irregular backside would not allow the battery pack to set well. I reckon I could re-engineer the mount with velcro and zip ties, but that would likely inhibit the ability to dismount quickly.

Also, it looks like the small profile of the light may permit wearing the head harness under my helmet. Anyone doing that?

Thanks much.

I like the idea of a helmet light on the front since it shines where you are looking, but I prefer one that is attached to the bike for the rear since most traffic is coming at you from straight on...
