New Commuter
Got a good deal. 2015 CAADX with sram rival. The only thing holding me back now is the idea that she is going to get dirty. Anyone know of a good rack? First time using actual frame mounts. Otherwise used a clamp to hold down the top of the rack after attaching the bottom in to the frame. Ie Topeak Explorer. Looking for something that can take a little more weight. I would include a photo but keep getting an error message.
Cheers, Dos |
This is what I have and like Topeak RX BeamRack with Side Frame - V-Type - REI.com and it mates nicely to this Topeak MTX TrunkBag DXP with Expandable Side Panniers - REI.com

I have the explorer rack on two bikes and swap the mtx/dxp bag between them. Works great for me. If you're planning on loading up a full sized pannier (s) I would probably choose the super toutist. It can also be used with the mtx system.

Congratulations on your wonderful weekend bike. Now go back out there and buy a clunker for commuting. ;)

+1
No fear of it getting dirty if it only cost a few bucks to start with. |
I do not understand commuting on a junker or worrying about getting my bike dirty. I am not saying you are wrong, just saying I do not get it. I am on my commuter for just under 2 hours, so I like having a good bike. Ride your nice bike and get it dirty. :)

This is my perspective as well. Although my commute is approximately 45 minutes, in that time it is important for me to fully enjoy the bicycle and be as comfortable as possible. When the bike starts to get dirty, I wash it.
