I was glad to see, Celestial Tea using a commuter bicycle on their box of Chamomile tea. Chamomile Herbal Tea | Celestial Seasonings Tea Shop Is commuting now, "hip" for big companies?

I heard it was the Sleepytime Bear's bike before he got addicted to bee syrup and hocked the bike to feed the habit.

Celestial Seasonings is based in Boulder, CO. It's worth taking the tour just for the experience of "Mint Room" alone. A little further up north in Ft. Collins, CO is the New Belgium Brewing, Co. They are all about the bike. Their logo, labels, sponsored events and history all reflect a love of bikes.

Perhaps, if you consider "Celestial Tea" a big company, and if you think anyone but a bicycle aficionado knows or cares what a "commuter bicycle" looks like.

I don't know if it's about being hip in Celestial Seasonings case. Maybe the opposite. Close to that same picture could have appeared 40 years ago on one of their tea boxes. They're trying to evoke a certain esthetic. Bicycles have been around for a long time. Virtually everyone rode one as kids and many adults still ride them at least once in a while. They generate positive feelings in those both young and old.

You'll see images of sailboats on products and in logos all the time even though sailing as a pastime has been in decline for decades. They're even found on manhole covers in this city.
