Does The Blizzard of '16 Affect You?

I've seen reports on the news how bad things are for those affected in the Blizzard of '16. My question is this, is anyone riding through the deep stuff?

I don't care who you are. Fatbike or no Fatbike. You ain't ridin in 20 inches of snow. My max is 12 inches, and that's only if I have a car tire track to ride in. Follow the snowplow. Colorado Springs gets heavy snowfalls.

Unlike the Snowpocalypse (three consecutive and cumulative big ones in 2015…see picture), Boston received about 4 inches by my estimation. On Saturday night after a couple hours of snowfall, I rode through about three inches of new fallen snow on a MUP on Schwalbe Marathons. The biggest problem was I couldn’t make out curbs, but I knew where they were; and the snow was sharp and stinging.

But by Monday,

Sadly no. I'm off the bike for probably a few weeks due to a health issue. But the skiing has been terrible around here this winter.

I'd check the other thread for actual info, but the short answer is: at least in my town, there was a day and a half of working from home and a weekend in the house. Yesterday afternoon and this morning were slow going in places, but I actually took the long way home today. It hit 60 and stuff melted somewhat.

I took Monday off. By now the streets are clear, just a bit narrow an slushy. And I have to take a slightly different route until the snow melts off the canal towpath, which adds a half mile to my ride. It's melting pretty fast.

Blizzards? Do they sell those at PDQ Marts? Or U-totem?

Seriously hope everybody's doing OK out there.

We got a light dusting on Friday morning, not even enough to cover the tops of the brown grass blades. Boss said don't come in, that was A-OK with me.

So no, it didn't affect me one bit.
