Share you commute to work video #Shareyourcommute
There is a thread for sharing photos of our bicycles. What about sharing how does it look a regular daily commute (or a portion of it) on video?
I would love to see those little differences (or huge, maybe) in terms of infrastructure, traffic behavior/manners, and maybe showing off our cities a little? Just a regular day, like today. I'll start with mine, yersterday: Altitude: 2.600m (8.530foot, 1.6 miles) Distance: 6km (3.7mi) Temperature: 17°C (62°F) Average time: around 14 minutes Best time: 11:48 Route: https://www.strava.com/activities/409426837#9826874014 |
Not my regular commute, but very enjoyable.

I'm not set up to do this but it's very cool... :thumb:

I'd like to, but I don't have a good bracket for my phone, and I don't want to spend money and time on an action camera. I once took a five minute video of my commute by holding my phone up with my hand. It was very shaky, and it wasn't very representative of my 14-mile ride.

I love it, thanks for sharing this. Now I know l would do just fine in N.Y. ;)

It is a good idea having a helmet/handlebar camera, it might capture videos to be used as an evidence for many scenarios. Mine is a Mobius, cost me around $60. Give it a thought.

noglider, I hear you! It's like having kids - I can remember the first time we could leave the house without a diaper bag. Such freedom!

I have a video of my morning commute that I just haven't finished editing yet. I have it broken down into various clips with transitions, some of them time lapse and some regular clips, but I still want to add some annotation notes to it. Maybe some music? Not sure what I would put that's legal to use, and would fill up 10+ minutes.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching them.:)
I have neither the time, interest, nor the equipment to do such a thing at the moment. But that may change. |
While I usually ride my own bike along Manhattan's Hudson River Greenway, sometimes I'll combine a subway trip with a Citi Bike trip up 8th Avenue. I took this video a couple of years ago, but the situation is very much the same today -- if not even worse.

There's a lot to be said for just jumping on and going. I do see the point of having evidence. I've seen the videos that make some citations become open-and-shut cases. But in the interest of jumping on and not stressing, I just hope I don't need such a video.
