A road helment manufactured by Bell. Couldn't tell you the model. It was the least expensive helmet at the bike shop I bought it at (somewhere in the $40 range) and I have used it for road, mountain, commute, cyclocross, etc etc.

In the winter it's a road helmet by Rudy Project. Main things that defines it as my winter commuter helmet is that it's one size up to accommodate balaclava or other type of hat, and I have the mount for my Dinotte light zip-tied to the top.
In the summer it's a road helmet, sometimes a Giro Atmos, and sometimes it's POC Octal (and sometimes it's the Rudy Project - if I know I'm going to end after full dark).

Still using an older Giro Atmos helmet. So voted for road helmet which seems to be the most popular. Recently realized that it has a crack behind the right ear area. Must have done it whilst running over a skateboard with the front wheel two years ago. Yeeay. Should replace it soon. Let me know if anyone has a recommendation for something similar but cheaper.

Bikes: A few older US made Cannondales, a modern Soma Saga (no longer made, alas!), and one gifted crabon Specialized. Never enough.

First post(!), but I selected other, using a mountain bike specific helmet, namely the Fly Racing Freestone. Chose it because I like that mountain helmets have more coverage at the back of the head. Sure, a little hotter than a road helmet, but I am rather clumsy. Also like that it has a much harder feeling shell component to it, unlike previous Bell road helmets, which used to be my go to brand. Probably makes no difference safety-wise, but sure feels sturdy, almost like a hard hat, and I like that! Plus it has plenty of room for a liner.

Road helmet for me, Bontrager from the LBS. I used to use an older Specialized MTB helmet with visor removed, but it was a medium and didn't fit very well over things like skull caps and ear warmer bands. I got my new helmet in a large with the rotational knob adjustment thingy on the back, and it fits great over pretty much anything I have on my head.
Only thing I don't like is there is not enough of a smooth surface anywhere on the entire helmet to put the GoPro adhesive mount.

I voted road helmet. At least I think it's a road helmet. Louis Garneau Arcterus. It was the only one my LBS had that would fit my melon head.

Last year I bought a Catlike Whisper knockoff Like this. I love it.
Only problem is, because of my receding hairline, sun through the frontmost holes can give me funny-looking red oval sunburns on my forehead.

I use the same helmet for everything I do on my bike, a Nutcase helmet, it's kinda old now (5 years now maybe?). It's my only helmet but I've been thinking of getting a second one for the summer (the Nutcase is kinda warm as it doesn't have many openings).

I voted "other", as I use a Bell Delirium, which is a mountain bike helmet with visor.

Yes he may be on to something. When I was still riding motorcycles, I recall a discussion on cars tailgating a motorcyclist and one guy said when that happens, he stood up on his pegs and typically the car would back or move around. i tried it a couple of times and damn if it did not work. Nothing scientific but seemed to work in practice.

Every 3-4 years I decide I need a new road bike helmet - and then I convince myself that my commute helmet is worn out, so I buy a new helmet for road rides, rotate the old helmet down to commuter status, and throw away the old commuter helmet (frequently after smashing it with a baseball bat just for fun.
Although I actually had a helmet-cracking incident a while back and had to replace my road bike helmet directly so my current commuter bike helmet is almost 12 years old.

White. I figure it might be seen by a motorist, and is likely to be noticed by a policeman if there's an incident (not to be confused with an accident). I'd go with something more ridiculous, like high-vis yellow if I could (a) find one that fit, and (b) stomach the thought of it on my head.
Since even the CDC has basically retracted the claim that a helmet prevents head injuries (their "researchers" invented that claim), I figure the reasons to wear a helmet are: (1) repel lawyers; (2) calm over-zealous safety officials and spouses; and (3) shut up the nags who drive their cars to meetings to ask that all cyclists be forced to wear a helmet "for their own good."

A white one. The brand is Bell.
I'm not sure I know the difference between road and commuter and mountain bike, the latter of which I don't see listed in the poll.
What's a "multi-sports" helmet? Would that be like the one Jack Nicholson wore in "Easy Rider"?

High-visibility can be achieved by clothing (more than helmets, since helmets are smaller and not at eye level). Since according to some studies, drivers tend to be more aggressive toward cyclistis wearing helmets, it may help to wear a black or unnoticeable-colored helmet.
Road helmets
Mountain bike helmets
Commuter helmets
Multi-sport helmets (What are Multi-Purpose Helmets)
Would it be right to suppose, in general, the protection of the helmets from weakest to strongest could be roughly ranked in this order: Road < Commuter < Mountain < Multi-sports < Snow sports ?

It's a little roadish and a little MTBish - Giro Revel. Mine's Highlight Yellow.
I took off the visor, so I voted road.

POC Trabec Race, white w/ orange square on back. Super comfortable, many safety awards & I wasn't wearing it the only time I've hit my head in almost a decade. Big bruised lump, headache for 48hrs & slightly blurry vision for a few minutes
Dog got to my old one & they sent me (through the lbs) a replacement at no charge...solid people over there at POC.

I just picked up a Specialized Centro LED helmet after my last one cracked in a crash.
The LED part is a gimmick, IMO, since it's coin cell operated and very weak.
The helmet fits great, though. If they had the non LED version, I would have gotten it instead.
