Running 2 lights off 1 battery

I run a Magicshine MJ-872 headlight and MJ-818 taillight off of a single battery pack using the splitter/Y cable included with the 818 package. I'm working off-hour shifts more lately and using 2 commuters, and looking for an easier way to switch my lighting setup between bikes. I tried self-contained units but found the mounts cantankerous and the lumens inadequate. Is there perhaps an adequate battery pack with 2 input/output lines? Anyone with a similar, portable setup worth sharing?

Many thanks.

the Bulb/diode will draw what it wants off the battery.. double the load is halving the run time .

I Made Up A 5 D cell [1.2v per cell rechargeable] and wired a Headlight .. Old Union reflector

for flange base with Halogen Bulbs I got at radio shack.

and a regular 0.6w bulb in a on the rear Mudguard tail light for a 12 Mile commut I had thru farm country

circa 1990.. turned it of by unplugging the wire to the batteries ..

You're answering the wrong question.

You are Jumping the gun to play 'gotcha'..

and ask a un clear question, Post more about what you bought ,

so wait till someone who bought the same stuff you did, to find the Post ..

Or figure it Out On Your Own.

I too am confused as to the question.

I don't know how the topic, "running 2 lights off 1 battery" relates to moving lights from one bike to another. They seem like two different things to me.

Then there seems to be a third unrelated issue, sourcing a battery with multiple leads.

Clarification, please?

Self-contained rechargeable lights are too difficult to move between bikes? How so? All you need is the correct mount on each bike, and it's as easy as sliding the light off one mount and on the other. 5 seconds, max. I have two 700 lumen headlights, which are way more than adequate. Each light alone is more than adequate.

I use a Chinese Cree but use the headband as I don't like the rubber band mounting:

for my back light, I use a Cygolite hotshot that is mounted on my back pannier rack with the special mounting bracket from Cygolite that is specifically designed for the pannier rack

I have 2 bikes which I use, and use one set of lights .... front light is on my headband and battery stays in my pocket, back light clips off in seconds

I have 1 B&M Ixon IQ Headlight . I have 2 brackets .
