Even it helps one time I think it would be worth it.

How about wearing a fake camera? Would that help make people act responsibly. Maybe also a sign that says smile for the camera.
Kidding, in case it's not obvious.

I've been riding bikes, and motorcycles for 40+ years, and have yet to find myself in a situation where having a camera would have made a tangible difference. "Worth" is subjective.

Perhaps medication or behavior modification therapy might be a more effective prophylactic for someone who has an inordinate number of negative and/or hostile interactions with others when bicycling.

Maybe so. But what about some of these guys I've heard about and seen videos from who ride velomobiles, and get stopped by police all the time? One guy I know of has been stopped over 40 times in his area in just a few years, as he's just riding along minding his own business. Police always seem to ASSume that he's breaking the law because his weird vehicle doesn't have a license plate on it. He said his interactions have pretty much always ended up positive, but you never know when that one LEO is going to be all pissy during the whole encounter for some unknown reason.

If some camera wielding fellow on a weird vehicle is stopped "all the time just minding his own business" and has yet to post a video "pissy" interaction, I would assume, one - pissy interactions are not occurring, and two - the fellow just may ride as he does because he likes stirring up the local citizens and just might like "interactions" with police.

Also, I break so many traffic laws while cycling that I wouldn't dream of reporting anyone else in any kind of vehicle short of a hit and run homicide. I have never seen one of those BTW. I can't think of even one incident where a visible camera would have prevented something from happening.

I could engage in something worth filming at least once a week if not almost daily if I went looking for trouble. Thankfully, it didn't take too long before my skin was so thick regarding the daily rigors of city cycling. After 45 years surviving city grid commuting not much is going to incite me into any sort of face-to-face drama. In fact, I can't afford to be thinking about what happened five seconds ago while elbow-to-fender in traffic.

I have my GP on my commute bike. I don't think its a deterrent but may help in an accident situation sort things out. I've only had one incident where it has come in handy. I was sitting at a red light and two cars got into a non-injury accident on the cross street. Camera caught it all. I sent the video file to both drivers. Just for kicks when I edited the video I put some Penny Hill music in the background.

Almost everybody has a phone with camera these days, security and traffic cameras are prolific, cops have body and dash cams, dash cams are being shilled on TV, and a handful of cyclists use them.
Exactly when are we going to see a change in driver behavior because of them?
