One thing I have noticed from having a rack on a SS is make sure the rack's legs don't get in the way of the flanges of the track nuts.

"Track nuts" sounds like a racer's affliction.

Blackburn claims it will fit a 29er with disc brakes. I live in rural America and my LBS has a limited stock and if they order it I own it.......just the way of Northern NH.
The LBS does carry Blackburn but doesn't have the rack in stock.......

That may be true, but it's a lot easier to type than "captive lockwasher nuts" or whatever the technical term is.
