One more suggestion: take those unfinished silver metal brackets off, give them two coats of black spray paint, and then put them back on. It'll look sooooo much better when they match the black rack, plus your bike is black too.

I've thought of doing this. There are a wide variety of soda crate sizes and shapes.

I've had good luck just strapping pizzas straight to the rack. In their boxes, I mean.

They're light and rigid enough that a single wide bungee front to back holds fine for the 6 blocks home from Little Caesar's or the ~mile from Papa John's. No shifting or tilting at all.

Sounds like a recipe for cold pizza to me...

A mile home, almost all downhill from Papa John's, takes about 5 minutes. Guaranteed it takes a pizza driver longer than that to get it, get in his car, wait at one or both of two lights I avoid by cutting through the campus, and find my house.

And when it's in the high 80s to 90s outside, pizza doesn't get cold very fast. For winter, I may even have one of those insulated carriers in storage from when my cousin was delivering around the campus on a bike.

I've tied the boxes on a rack before, but I think it would be easier to fold the slices together and slide them into a bag that was easier to carry. With wax paper or plastic if you wanted to keep it neat.

I've been considering one of those delivery carriers as well for use in the car. I've seen them on eBay for about $15; even better if you can get one from your cousin...
