Poo Wagon

Today I almost got nailed by a large (Industrial sized.) Poo Wagon. A.k.a.. Manure spreader. I was north of town when it started to unload it's cargo of manure only feet from me. No. I wasn't please with the farmer and I told him so! Alright:eek:, who else on this list had something like that happen to them?

That's pretty *****ty!

Since the wheels of the manure spreaders track some of the cargo onto the road between trips back and forth to the barn it's hard not to have to deal with that. Since they always try and stay close to the shoulder the only way to keep your tires clean is to "take the lane" but that's an iffy proposition on a 50 mph stretch of road.

The other day my wife was driving home when the wind blew liquified pig chit all across the freeway. Covered her car in that green, smelly solution which almost instantly dried. Thing is that the service roads around here are pretty popular bike routes. I wonder how the cyclists made out that day. Gross.

Full fenders aren't just for rain...

Bike Touring, I found that as I rode on Ireland's west coast the risk of coming over the crest of the rolling hilly roads

and Potentially running into the back of a Manure spreader doing 15MPH, was an Important Factor in Lowering
the traffic speed on those narrow roads..

It also happened to Biff

I have never come close to this happening to me, and I've ridden in some different kinds of places. I hope it was cow manure, which, to my nose, isn't all that foul. Pig schidt would have really annoyed me.

We don't have poo wagons. We do however occasionally get piles of horse s**t in the park.
