Switcheroo

I drove my car to work today. Man, it felt weird and uncomfortable. I admire people that can drive their cars back and forth to work every day.

Unfortunately you cannot take the bike everywhere.
If you live more than 10-15 miles for work with an altitude difference of 500 meters, biking every day just takes too much time :|

I'm a frequent switcheroo-er. I find I really have to pay attention to remember what mode I'm in, otherwise I'll walk to the parking garage when my car's not there, or reflexively take the route I use for my bike commute while driving (even though it's inefficient when in a car), etc.

I think the main reason I wear a helmet is that, when it's sitting there on my desk it reminds me that biked into work that day. :-P

And while it is nice sometimes to sit in comfy motorized throne with a good stereo and air-conditioning, I also get those moments when I'm stuck behind a line of cars and all these happy-looking bicyclists are whizzing by me, making me wish I had ridden in today instead.

...therefore you should move.

I'm with OP though, whenever I drive to work, it's eerie. I'm in way less of a hurry than all the other drivers, because I feel like I'm moving so much faster than I usually do, and I feel like I don't belong. Like all the other cagers, they live in the traffic, I'm just visiting.

Sometimes when I'm driving with the wife I'll turn down a side street she'll remind me I'm not on my bike, and I can take the main road.
