Latest Commute Video

Thursday morning...

What? No trash, graffiti or homeless crackheads? Where are your fields of broken glass? Is that pavement you ride on or some kind of extended billiard table surface. It's so smooth I can't tell exactly what it is.

That looks like a dream commute. Your under-the-freeway crossing at 2:30-2:45-ish looked a little dicey (did I see a bike lane far right?) but traffic looked really light.

Color me green with envy.

Not me. That ride was exposed to way too many cars and covered far too many streets for my blood. I'd probably drive, if that was my commute.

My commute is mostly this:

I get the willies whenever I have to ride in the door zone. Does it bother you?

You have a nice commute!

Oh, we do have some trash, graffiti, homeless crackheads and broken glass, just not on a regular basis. I look at bike commute videos from some cities and "SMH" and the kids say.

Yours is not too different from mine by the looks of it. I wish it was all trails and greenways, and shorter. But it could be worse.

Looks like a relaxing ride in a nice town, my commute doesn't give me much chill-out time, color me jealous as well!

I saw the shadow of your young riding partner several times, didn't realize til now that Teletubbies could ride a bike, much good for conversation?

Good job on the video. You have a very nice commute. Auto traffic is very light and much more friendly compared to our street riding conditions here in Austin, Tx. I only noticed one other cyclist in your video, in the downtown area. Bicycle traffic is also much lighter than what I experience in the urban center, here.
Thanks for sharing.

I do miss commuting, touring, riding on Ohio's incredible bike path network. Your photo takes me back to my time there. I love how old bridges are used and repurposed for Ohio's bike paths. I also very much appreciated the many pedestrian/bicycle bridges and tunnels that allow crossing at separate grade from auto traffic on highways and busy arterial roads.

Prefer it without the music, but nice video.

1. Morning commute? Looks like mid-day to me. The only time I have daylight for my commute is in June and July.
2. Where are the cars? This didn't happen to be a weekend morning, did it? Around here there is 10x more traffic even before 6AM
3. This is most important - It really looks like you enjoy your commute. This is absolutely fabulous. If you shared your video with co-workers you may have a good chance to convince some of them to give it a try.

Thanks for the post.

Yes, it is a huge plus. Like I said above, I doubt I would cycle commute without the trail network. I ride 50 miles r/t. That just would not be safely doable on busy roads.

Excellent!

BTW, I know I post this link a lot, but here are some more of my comuute routes and other rides:

Ok, now you're just showing off. BTW, I'm gonna have to call the authorities for that rolling stop at ~1:14.
