Jamis Coda Elite vs All City Space Horse Disk

I'm looking for a daily commuter bike that could also be fun to ride longer distances on the weekends. I've test rode a bunch of bikes, and these two rise to the top for me, however the price difference is huge, and I'm not sure which to go with. Is the All-City really worth the extra cost? I like the drop bars on the all city for moving hand positions (but would rarely move to the lower position, would bullhorn style bars work just as well?) I like that they both have disk brakes for riding in wet weather, and I really prefer the aesthetic looks of the All-city to the Jamis, they both feel pretty nice to ride, but I did feel more connected to the road on the Jamis.

Thoughts on which I should get? Pros and Cons, and is the significant price difference worth it?

The age old question. You've presented a kind of apples to oranges comparison with those 2 bikes. The Space Horse does have all around better components, so that's one reason for the extra cost.

I think you need to decide if you want drop bars vs. flat bars. Jamis has some drop bar bikes that cost less than the Space Horse - Renegade Expat, Quest Comp - have you tried those?

They both want to sell bikes .. Ride them both.. You can change component parts on either of them to be more like you prefer.

They are I expect both made in Taiwan , the Bike Biz id Hot There , Everyone uses their Talented Companies.

agreed, those are very different bikes. as well as deciding about dropbars versus flatbars, you should decide on a budget. yes, the Space Horse is definitely with more money than any of the Coda bikes, but do you need what it offers? will you go off pavement? will you load up for a light tour or an overnighter? are you thinking about long rides events or on group rides or on your own? if you are doing none of that, maybe the Coda serves your purposes for considerable savings. if you would like to do such things, or even the option to do such things, maybe the All City is a better choice; Jamis does offer a similar machine in the Renegade.
