OMG YES! I can bike 22 miles from Santa Clara to Redwood City in 1 hr 30 minutes. Work pays for go pass and it's 18 minutes to walk to Caltrain, 5 minute wait and 35 minute train ride and another 2 minutes to get to work. I catch an express train and bike home. For a grand total of like 20 extra minutes a day, I get great exercise.

I've also purchased platform pedals and a giant chain lock and will start doing some weekend errands by bike. So many #_)*%)&^ stop lights and lots of traffic. It has gotten so much worse in the last 3-5 years.

Fortunately, the bay area is very bike friendly and you get almost anywhere without taking your life in your hands.
