coffee before I leave the house, six miles to work, then two packets of instant oatmeal (because it's fast and I can buy it cheap at costco). coffee before I leave work, and dinner when I get home.
|
I have about a 16 mile ride each way, and I'm finding my poached eggs and 1 piece of toast are just NOT doing it for me. Needs moar carbs. I think I'll start just doing two pieces of toast with PB and coffee.

I have started carrying two scoops of whey protein with me. One for midway between breakfast and lunch and other for around an hour before the ride. Still experimenting with my diet though.

These protein bars really taste great and easier to take than powder. I take one (plus a banana) when I get to work and another one about 30 minutes before leaving work. Once at home, I take another banana and a glass of chocolate milk.
My plan was to keep a tub of the powder here in my office. If only I could remember to carry it when I commute by car. LOL |

Thanks! Amazon says "this item does not ship to your location" :crash: But there should be similar products available here. I think our cafeteria also stocks something similar, though highly overpriced.

i used to eat oatmeal right after I showered and changed and got to my desk.
now I want some variety. dried fruit, granola, protein granola, protein shake, frozen burrito, etc. |
Lots of coffee and a bit of half and half before work and a Coors tall-boy when I get home. In other words, I usually don't eat anything immediately after or before rides. Only a 10 mi RT and I take it easy on the way there to avoid getting too sweaty. I haven't actually found a big difference between fasted and not for low mileage rides.

30 mile round trip here. I just eat a granola bar in the morning, or sometimes nothing if I ride the e-bike, then usually a banana at work. In the afternoon, nothing before, and dinner after.
|
Whatever I would have eaten anyway.
Usually I just get up and ride. 25 miles to work, then have my usual breakfast, which is a breakfast bagel, same thing as when I don't ride or I just stay home. Lunch, then ride back home and have dinner. I just eat whatever. |
I don't eat anything for a commute, or for other rides these days, but when I did in the past it was fig newtons, PB and jelly rollups, trail mix, banana. A few times, cream filled donuts or other pastry - mainly stuff that I could digest quickly.

Banana as I head out the door. I have breakfast once I come into the office.
