New helmet has no sticker

Hello I recently purchased a helmet new on amazon. I have heard that you should not use helmets that do not have some sticker on the inside indicating it has met a certain safety standard. This helmet was brand new. Should I return it?

Site: Amazon
Brand: TeamObsidian
Product title: Premium Quality Airflow Bike Helmet Specialized for Road & Mountain Biking - Safety Certified Bicycle Helmets for Adult Men & Women, Teen Boys & Girls - Comfortable , Lightweight , Breathable

If you live in the USA, contact Amazon and tell them a product they sold you does not appear to meet Federal safety requirements

Google the brand and model and see if it meets codes. Maybe the sticker just came off.

My daughter stuck a bunch of "My Little Pony" stickers all over my helmet. I rode it that way for months. I felt much safer.

They claim CE certification in their advertising. Should have a mark like this somewhere

Yes, it does have that CE mark. Good. I did not know what it was supposed to look like.

Does it need to be my little pony stickers specifically speaking? I was thinking Green Lantern stickers to protect me with will and a Hulk sticker because who feels unsafe with a hulk sticker. On the other hand if the my little pony stickers work so well maybe I should go down that path.

Don't read too much into it. It only means it's adequate to be sold in the EU, it's like DOT cert in the USA

Good idea on the Hulk sticker, Green Lantern might not protect you from yellow cars, yellow lights, or yellow lines. You might also add a superman sticker, unless you have a Kryptonite lock.

Also be aware that there's a standardized scam surrounding the CE mark.
There's a "China Export" mark that was designed to be nearly identical. A lot of crappy product comes with the China Export symbol on it.

Here's an article on the scam (with example of both)

If you live in the US, by law the helmet must conform to CPSC standards. If there's no certification sticker, it's probably not legal to sell in the US.

Yes. Even the lowest quality/priced helmet is required to have this label.

It's a pretty good scam if so, the helmet is $60, you'd expect a knockoff to be $12

Shopkins stickers work well also.

The Superman sticker IS a good idea. But I'm in a weird spot be a use I have an Onguard U-lock but a Kryptonite flexframe.

European helmet standards are not as stringent as in the US:

There were national standards in effect in various European countries, but Europe now has a CEN standard that covers all member states. Helmets can meet it with thinner foam and lighter weight than the US CPSC standard, and often do not pass CPSC impact tests.
