Yes The prices they were advertised at in the US a couple of years ago were around or above 2000 dollars for a Gazelle Tour populair or a relatively basic Azor. The Tour populair is overpriced anyway, but is around 900 euro here. Let's say shipping and customs is a 100, currency conversion is a 100 and logistics/lower numbers counts for a 100, there's still a huge gap.

That's reasonable. The tour populair is still overpriced though but it's also overpriced in the Netherlands. Azor is still cheap for it's quality.

Maybe it has changed, and I don't want to accuse every American shop of overpricing. But back then I got the impression that some thought they could ask more than 2000 dollars just because it's the best of it's kind (or pretends to be in case of the TP). It is the best of it's kind, that kind just isn't that expensive to make. It's a bit like trying to sell a Mercedes 2.0 diesel for Ferrari prices, just because it's the best 2.0 diesel around.

Your other thread on this got moved to what is it worth ?, because moderators assumed you wanted to sell it
you wanted a value estimate..

unlike houses most bikes really dont go up in value as they get older...

To sell? list it on eBay,, the bidding will tell you what its worth..
