They might have thought better of a snarky but otherwise unhelpful post, so I wouldn't dwell on it.

I get email notifications when I'm quoted, so occasionally I get to see what they said before they changed their mind, anyway. ;)

Someone was apparently miffed, or had another reason to contact you privately, then thought better of it.

What's odd is that you should have received the email notification before they had a chance to delete.

Of course, if you have notifications deleted,.....

Whatever it is that you're doing , keep in up, and maybe they'll be back.

We're a new city, historically populated by immigrants. So anything you're likely to find in NYC was probably brought here from somewhere else.

What's to be sorry for. I have countless excellent options close at hand, and don't concern myself over the likelihood that i may find better someplace else.

It's like that half full glass, except that its 95% full, and I can drink it now and get more later.

The tab that he is referring to isn't private messages but quotes in threads. Looking at the date, it may have been me. I deleted a comment to a post he made and decided that the thread was too old so I deleted it. Nothing to get knickers in a knot over.
