my gf bought the hat and she absolutely does not want me to wear lycra. she actually commutes with me quite a bit. i think she just likes keeping me humble..... which is hard to do when your amazingly handsome.

I respect all(*) cyclists, be they fast or slow, wearing street clothes or lycra, riding a cruiser or road bike. I feel bad for those that have the seats too low and look like their knees must be hurting.

i want to adjust the seatpost for half the riders i see. when you offer though they usually refuse.

honestly i dont care who wears what. i just know i would look awful in it. when touring i will ride 50-90 miles a day and i dont wear it then so i figure i can do without on my commute. many people around me use it though and they are happy. so live on comrades!

Most novice cyclists feel they need that security of being able to touch the ground while on the saddle, which invariably results in a saddle too low unless you're on a "crank forward" type of cruiser bike. When I had my first professional fitting on my new road bike when I first bought it, I came back home and got on my old MTB, then immediately raised that saddle a good 2 to 3 inches. I was running the thing much too low the whole time prior, without realizing it.

Instead of worrying about your clothes you should be worrying about spilling your coffee. There are a bunch of threads here about travel mugs and cup holders, I'm sure you can rock some Fredly solution to that issue.

I have a cup holder on my e-bike commuter. I originally put it on before it was an e-bike to hold a coffee mug, but now I use it for my water bottle also since the battery blocks both sets of bosses in the frame triangle.
