Abus Granit X-Plus 54 Mini Key Bicycle U Lock

Guys - just bought the Abus Granit X-Plus 54 Mini Key Bicycle U Lock

What's the best mounting bracket for it? It's going on a Trek FX2

Thx

Backpack.

I never really use a backpack while riding and would prefer mounting to frame

You'll never find a good silent mount. That's why I went with an ABUS Bordo when I didn't want a backpack hassle ... mounted it where the waterbottle went. Perfect for about 5000 km of commuting in all weather.

I never found a good U-lock mount. I keep mine in a Carradice saddle bag.

Keep mine in the sleeve of one if my panniers. Before panniers, it was in a backpack, before that, my frame mount broke in a nasty fall. But it wasn't quiet so I wasn't too mad.

Do the new Abus don't come with brackets anymore? I have an 90s Abus heavy duty U-bolt lock which came with a bracket to mount it to the frame.

two fish lock blocks

I stand corrected. Looks like Abus now sells them separately:

I have a longer and heavier version of the OP lock in the Granit-X Plus 54 300mm and my Abus mount is perfect and silent.

You need two pieces.

1. The Shackle Clamp which goes directly onto your U-Lock
2. The EazyKF Bracket which goes onto your frame and allows the U-Lock with Shackle Clamp to slide into it and securely hold it.

are those parts you refer to also work with the X-Plus 54 Mini - mini is the smaller version

+1

Backpack, or put on a rack (with an old inner tube, or a rubber bungee cord to prevent rattling).

Frame mounts - never been happy with them - the original Abus ones that come with the lock.

They should fit as the shackle diameter of the 54 mini is the same size as the shackle diameter of it's bigger/longer brother.

And if the shackle clamp fits, then it is a given that it will fit into the EazyKF frame bracket.
