Slime tube for 700x38?

On my new Breezer Beltway, it came with Marathon Racers in 700x38. When I went to replace the tubes with Slime tubes, the closest I could find was 700x28 - 35. All my stuff is presta so I was hoping to stick with it.

Should I just use the smaller tubes, or is there another size that is equivalent, like a 27" 0r 28" or whatever?

Any advice appreciated!

you'll be fine running a 38mm tire on a 35mm tube. That is the closet size slime makes.

Alternatively if you want to get fancy: you could get a 38mm tube with a removable core, and fill it up with slime sealant yourself if you want.

I didn't have much luck using slime with skinny tires as I got more pinch flats than punctures. But with larger tires that don't pinch flat, it worked OK. Its just so rare for me to get a puncture. I did get a puncture once, and it worked, but that was with a bigger mountain bike tire.

for now I'm going tubeless or slimeless. Slime only seemed to seal very small holes (best with an object that stayed in the tire).

Thanks.... I commute through the highly used roads with lots of crap... I was hoping with the new commuter bike, and Schwalbe Marathon Racers, Mr. Tuffys and Slime tubes, I could cut down on the flats. But today I had one... and I've probably only got 250 miles in.

And of course it is always the rear tire, which with the belt drive is a bit more of a pain.

I'm going to investigate tubeless. Can't easily change wheels with the internal gears and belt drive, so I'll probably need to do the conversion.

Sometimes it's easier and quicker to patch the tube without removing the wheel, esp. with IGH and belt drive.

I would never have thought of doing that! Interesting idea. It took my about 15 minutes to replace the tube.
