Let's see your beast of burden

Show off your fully loaded grocery-getter/stuff-hauler/mule/donkey. Trailers welcome too

Here's mine on the weekend to the store:

Fully loaded.jpg
I estimated about 25 pounds worth of stuff in those three bags, plus maybe another couple of pounds in my backpack...which you can't see.

And this one last winter during an ice storm:

Puts mine to shame.

I'm curious how the bike handles with the front panniers fully loaded. I've never considered putting on a front rack. Having been in a crash where there was a front end catastrophic failure I'm quite leery of having anything close to the front wheel.

Quite well with a reasonable load. The Stromer is naturally back heavy and heavy rear panniers make that more extreme. So I found I rather liked a bit of weight in the front....but...

The bad thing about the front panniers (loaded) is that the kick stand is unable to hold the bike, especially in gusty wind. So despite it working quite well, I mostly hold the front in reserve for big shopping trips, or if I'm towing my younger son (no room for rear pannies with the weehoo tow bar).

Bike trailer on several trips: taking empty pop and beer cans/bottles to recycle site, taking old electronic stuff to Goodwill, returning from store with full soda pop bottles. Bike and trailer are garage sale finds used for at least the last 10 years by me with no problems Total cost =$15.

I have to get me one of these old kiddie trailers as well. Currently I use a Burley Travoy and panniers on various bikes.

I'd love to have one of these trailers. I could see myself using it a few times a year, but we have no room to store such a thing, and hence my second BBQ propane tank remains empty.

Actually the box was quite light, having only some other boxes inside. The route for the pallet load was flat, otherwise I'd walked too.

Yep. I had a hand in building and modifying the bike you referenced. Story here.

Hello in Sudbury. My wife is a Sudbury girl. The bridge over hwy 69 at Estaire Rd is named in honor of her dad.

Hi Dan. So, he was a police officer. I remember seeing the name on the bridge but I forget it. I don't know if it is typical around the province but a number of our bridges are named after police officers (but I'm not aware of any female officers who have a bridge named after them).

I was raised in Mississauga near Bloor/Dixie before I moved to Sudbury in 1985 where I met and married my wife 30 yrs ago. I like being within a few minutes drive (or 20 minutes ride) from nature. We live near the old Memorial Hospital.

He was a Sudbury cop, shot and killed in the line of duty, Oct 14, 1965. My wife was 10 years old.
