I saw these panniers on my commute this morning ... anyone know who makes them : )

I had a friend at work that nicknamed me Tidy Cat. Because of the stickerage I applied, we had a joke. What does a cat say? Meow. What does a Tidy Cat say? "ME U"

I walk into and out of work every day with my kittier. It sits on my desk.

I'm weird, but I relish the counterculture/antisocial element of intentionally looking like a bum. It does get pretty tiresome having everybody joke about what a big lunchbox you have, but sometimes you get something more interesting. One guy thought I had just gotten back from fishing

There was a picture of a guy sitting on one of those while camping that was part of a thread like this before. Not only was the kitty litter bucket great for protecting his gear, it also made a nice seat at the camp site. Not that I'd recommend that in New York City...

I have one that is an actual Tidy Cat bucket and a slightly smaller one that once held Feta cheese that has had ~3-4 years of daily use. It sits on the bike in the office all day.

I haven't yet had to use them both at once, there is usually an old Cannondale pannier on the other side of the bike with my lock, jacket, and extra grocery room.

I carry my reflectively decorated one on the left all the time. For shopping errands I will occasionally strap a 2nd on onto the right side.

Dumb question; how do you attach them to the rack?

Hooks bolted onto the bucket, as well as an optional bungee around the bottom of the rack to hold it steady.

That tutorial has a great tip, place the hooks carefully so the tops of the buckets end up level with your rack, it makes a great platform for wider objects. That pic in the OP has it right too.

What are you carrying where you need that much capacity? Your kids?

I've seen a couple folks locally with similar set ups. Personally, I'd go for the 4 in 1 variety as I prefer the black label.

I put on a 2nd bucket when I'm out for groceries.

Normal day-to-day I have just the left one, and it's mostly empty, although that "empty" gradually gets more and more full as I accumulate junk (receipts, pens/pencils, road-found wrenches, etc). That "mostly empty" includes a couple Park VP-1 patch kits, a Park AWS-1 wrench, a tire lever, and a small plastic container with some disposable plastic grocery bags (in case of a surprise rainstorm, for feet and leather saddle). Daily payload includes wallet, phone, shirt, socks, underwear, food. Jacket, gloves if I'm not wearing them. Jeans, towel if I'm bringing them home to be washed.

First I have to find someone with a cat.

Or keep your eyes peeled at dumpsters and recycle bins.

• Left side bucket is from cheese and not cat litter, it's about 1/3rd smaller than an actual Tidy Cat bucket.
• Left side bucket has clothes, lunch, reading material, random other bits. It's usually 2/3-3/4 full.
• Right side pannier has lock, jacket, and bungee cords, but is mostly empty.
• Tools and tubes go in the frame bag.

The extra room is for when Mrs. A drops the "can you go to $STORE and get @ITEMS?" message ... or when I find something interesting on the side of the road... or when I need to carry a computer because I'm on-call.

If I need more room, I go home and get the Bakfiets out. :)
