Game of photo tag!

Hi!

Rules are easy...

1. Find a SIMILAR tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here.
2. Upon posting your new tag, the tagger is responsible for specifying what it is in the photo that must be reproduced. Be specific, but not so specific that no one else will be able to play because we couldn't find another pink school bus.
* Try to place the tags in interesting locations, objects or places that could probably be found in at least the majority of the continent.
3. Tag must be: a) Common amongst North America & b) not placed on a trail or seasonal road. Dirt is ok, but remember some of us are on street bikes.
* Offroad is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.
4. The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.
5. One tag at a time within thread. File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.
6. No whining There are plenty of folks here that will help you understand the rules
7. The holder of the tag determines if the tag has been duplicated and acknowledges it by posting on the thread. (Surrendering the Tag)
8. No Pre-Arranged Tag Handoffs / Linear Tag sequence
9. The Bicycle in the picture must get to the tag location under its own power. No pics of a bike on your roof rack.
10. The new tag must be posted no later than six hours of the posting of your grab, or you will forfeit your tag to the previous tagger. Let's keep the game moving.
11. Last but not least, should the tag be soo ridiculous that no one is able to reproduce it, it can be voted down if a majority of the active participants feel necessary.

Remember, the point of this is not to win the game, or get a better picture than the guy who just to the tag before you, the point is the ride. On that note, if someone tags a post office. Rather than get out and ride a block to my local post office, I might ride an hour or so, out to the historic post office a few towns over.... Make it interesting.

I will make the first one easy, and sort of lame, but its one of the latest pics I have. I have a really cool one, of course, but its a file photo...

For now, though: Your bike chained to something that is NOT a bike rack (lamp post/sign post/etc...)...it's an easy one to get the game going.

Good luck!

Hi acidfast,

I don’t ride with a lock (chain), and your photo did not show up on my computer. :(

I recalled that you previously started a game in 2014, “
Anyone up for a game of photo tag again like before!.and I participated on post and #15.out of 33 posts. It was an interesting challenge.

acidfast7 12-04-18 05:14 AM

OK. I have posted a photo of my bike locked up at work. Can someone replicate this. If so, you can dictate what the next post is!

I also cannot see your pic on this thread, but I think I saw you posted the pic on a different thread today and mentioned posting it elsewhere...

really? maybe it's too wide to be displayed?

RubeRad 12-04-18 04:26 PM

now I see it.

So the game is, you posted your bike locked up to a bike rack, next person has to post a pick of their bike locked up to something else?

Nah, next person with a bike locked up can dictate what the next photo is.

RubeRad 12-05-18 10:54 AM

Isn't that what I said?

I locked my bike to a pole holding up a patio roof at a high school outdoor lunch area last night.

But I didn't get a picture. So I guess it didn't actually happen.

Is that your bike?

I-Like-To-Bike 12-05-18 12:19 PM

Next picture should be of a smiling bicyclist in full kit riding in the drops while commuting in dense urban traffic. Picture must indicate that the bicyclist is actually enjoying himself.

No, in Iraq I rode a beat up mtn bike I bought from a GI for $30; sold it for $30 when I left six months later.
Never locked it.

Good one, my man, good one.

Believe it or not, you didn't write enough rules.

Does the photo have to be your own, or can you just google something up?

It should be of you/your bike.

I copied the rules from elsewhere.

I am lazy/efficient.

I had to buy a seat post for about $5 as the other one was an offset aluminum post that bent. Miles? I dunno, I usually rode about 3 or 4 miles a day for about six months.

Got even cheaper in Kandahar Afghanistan where I was given two mtn bikes, I kept one in the housing area (S&W) which I kept locked and another in the work area which I never locked. Gave both away to my replacement six months later.
No costs at all except for the postage costs for the Brooks saddle which I had my wife mail from home. I put the original back on when I left.

Well then I'm definitely out for the next round. It would take a persistent photographer to even catch me in the drops, and I probably wouldn't be smiling. (Let alone I don't really have an urban area nearby to cycle through, nor do I own a full kit.)

I think it will take a professional photographer and a staged shot with a model to come up with the required picture because I don't think any such bicyclist exists in the wild.:roflmao2:

mcours2006 12-05-18 01:44 PM

I think you just killed the thread.:notamused:

RubeRad 12-05-18 02:12 PM

I recall a picture once posted to a thread that would meet those exact conditions, and it turned out to be a professional tour racer, but not during a race. Just cycling through town on a very fancy road bike with a backpack. I assume in the drops, and don't remember smiling.

I can't remember who it was, but I remember somebody's response comment was something like "that guy is commuting on a race bike, because it's <name>, commuting to his job as a professional bicycle racer"

Perhaps a picture of an intense mtn bike rider "enjoying" his ride can serve as a substitute, and I'll let you pick a subject if the OP agrees that I asked for an impossible scenario.

I might suggest a picture of a cyclist wearing his/her helmet in public far from his/her bicycle and looking like a fool.

Here's me enjoying my mtb (in CO)

Not intense enough? Here's me sporting a magnificent bruise from crashing my mtb on that same trip (yes that's a different bike, the bike survived just fine, I swapped with my son that day)

Off topic, but looks like you may have worked at Taco Bell in the mid 90's. I have the same shirt.
