Tire's

I blew a tire on my commute this week they where cheap 700x40 chen shins. I have a 26 mile round trip commute on fast four lane hi-way crossing I-65 into an industrial area (Ford and UPS). I like to put on some 28's or so to speed up my commute but they need to be durable like no flats. The bike is a Schwinn "Biketown" hybrid I won. What do you think I should use. I mostly ride bent's so this is the dark side for me.

Thanks Tim

Welcome to the dark side, Anakin.

A thread on tires has been going on all week with some comparisons between kevlar-lined tires. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out.

Thanks for the link I knew this subject is beaten to death. I guess I'm to lazy to search. I'll blame on my laid back riding style.

Stupid question: will 28s fit on your rims if you're running 40's right now?

Specialized has a deal on the TURBO SPORT CLASSIC TIRE in 700/32. You can buy it direct from them on sale for $14 ea(reasonable shipping rates too). Ive had good luck with Armadillios, never had a flat with one. https://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqP...jsp?spid=11324

Ahh, but the Sport Classic is not an Armadillo, and the Armadillo is the most flat resistent tire on the market.

Your right the Schwalbe Marathon Plus is probably better in flat protection then the Armadillo and would also wear far longer...BUT one of those Schwalbe's weighs almost as much as two Armadillo's and the Armadillo is not a light tire!

It seems like every list forum has an english teacher who can't let it go. Hey I didn't pay attention in class. Its kind of funny because my wife has BA in english.

I'll go with either the Marathon Plus or the Armadillo, what ever my LBS has. Thanks for all the advice folks.
