I need to find out if I can mail order Yoder microwave popcorn. That stuff is the best.
The microwave popper works pretty well too and then you can season it as you like. I like garlic salt and cumin |
I found this sriracha powder at the Grocery Outlet that is great on popcorn. My son likes to shake straight-up MSG on his popcorn.
Really I love nothing better than cheesy popcorn (that third of the christmas tin always disappears fast). I've tried a grocery store cheesy shaker, but it's not the same. |
I throw my leftover pizza in bread wrappers; keeps everything in and it's re-using it.
As for popcorn, I use the old pot-and-stove technique. It's noisy, but tastes great, once I drizzle in melted butter and toss with nutritional yeast (tastes cheesy)/Tapatio powder/salad seasoning/whatever interesting herb blends I found at the natural foods co-op's bulk spices section. I remember Alton Brown has a recipe for homemade microwave popcorn; I'd be happy to find it if anyone's interested. |
I'm not really a popcorn eater (loved Cracker Jack as a kid though), but I've heard the hot air method (I think it was in Consumer Reports) does the best job of popping consistent popcorn with less unpopped and/or burnt kernels.
