I have to admit, now that the temps are dropping into the low 50s (and we've already had 35), this is becoming my go to commuter and the 2 wheeler (also a recumbent) is staying parked.

My fenders start out like this. I figure if they're so much trouble to get mounted right anyway, it's not that much more trouble to start out from something more basic.
I think they're more aerodynamic and less rattly than commercial fenders.
